There are a lots of ways to save money that don’t require a sacrifice. All it takes is a small effort to put the change in place, and you’ll reap the savings for months and years to come.
Here are a few tasks that will trim down on utility costs, insurance premiums and expenses you don’t make use of. Add them to your Cozi to do list and attack one a day, one a week or whenever you have a free moment.
- Call to get rid of unused cable channels
- Call about combining cable, phone and internet to negotiate a lower rate
- Go through your cell phone bill and cut unneeded services
- Schedule overdue car maintenance
- Call insurance companies to negotiate a lower premium
- Combine car, auto and life insurance if it results in reduced rates
- Get rid of your home phone if possible
- Stop subscriptions to unread magazines and newspapers
- Discontinue unused memberships
- Buy some reusable cloth dishcloths and cloth dinner napkins
- Get and use a programmable thermostat
- Set your washing machine to use cold water by default
- Displace water in your toilet tank (use a jug or bag filled with water) to reduce water usage
