Dinning Room Deep Clean

Use this handy checklist for cleaning the dinning room.

  • GENERAL PREP
  • Remove all clutter from the table, chairs, and floors
  • Take out trash or recycling
  • Open windows for airflow (if possible)
  • Shake out or vacuum rugs
  • FURNITURE: TABLE & CHAIRS
  • Wipe down tabletop with appropriate cleaner (wood-safe if needed)
  • Clean and disinfect chair backs, seats, and legs
  • Vacuum upholstered seats or spot-clean fabric
  • Polish wood with furniture polish (optional)
  • Tighten any loose screws or bolts
  • CABINETS, BUFFETS, OR CHINA HUTCH
  • Dust and clean external surfaces
  • Wipe handles and knobs
  • Organize and dust interior shelves (if accessible)
  • Polish glass doors or mirrors (if applicable)
  • WALLS & DECOR
  • Dust or wipe wall art, frames, and mirrors
  • Spot clean walls (fingerprints, food splatter)
  • Dust crown molding and baseboards
  • Clean switch plates and light switches
  • LIGHTING & CEILING
  • Dust light fixtures and ceiling fans
  • Wipe bulbs and shades (make sure lights are off and cool)
  • Remove cobwebs from corners and ceiling
  • WINDOWS & TREATMENTS
  • Clean windows with glass cleaner
  • Wipe window sills and frames
  • Dust blinds or vacuum curtains
  • Wash or dry-clean curtains if needed
  • FLOORS
  • Sweep or vacuum thoroughly (under table and furniture)
  • Mop hardwood/tile or spot clean carpet
  • Clean edges and corners by hand if needed
  • Shake out and vacuum area rugs
  • FINISHING TOUCHES
  • Replace table centerpiece or tablecloth (if used)
  • Straighten chairs and décor
  • Light a candle or use an air freshener
  • Check that lighting and ambiance feel welcoming
