Quick Summer Snack Ideas for Kids

Kids love to snack. And during the summer, when kids spend more time around the house, requests for snacks will skyrocket. Head off at least some of these requests by having a game plan for what’s available for snacking and where snacks are kept.
First, a few strategies from Cozi families to make sure snacks are easy and portable:
“I like to make a snack basket from which the kiddos can help themselves throughout the day: fruit, crackers, cheese sticks (can be found in fridge), etc. When the snacks are gone -- they're done for the day!” –Fia S.
“I have a plastic, divided appetizer container with a lid. Every day or two I fill it full of sliced fruit (oranges, apples, grapes, berries). I can grab it quick when we decide to have an impromptu picnic.” –Wendy J.
“My son likes celery with peanut butter, you can leave them in the fridge. I've also made and frozen pb&js, 20 seconds in microwave and they’re ready. Frozen pb&js are also great on vacations or long road trips.” –Kimberly B.
Now, for some ideas. The trick is finding which of these snacks your own kids will gobble up, then put those on your grocery list each week. Here’s a list of basic snacks that are popular with Cozi families, and a few simple snack recipes.
