Is Online Learning Right for Your Child? Part 2

Did you know that online learning is gaining in popularity as an alternative to traditional at-school learning? Cozi sat down with K12, the leader in online learning for grades K through 12, to learn about how it works, and if it might be the right choice for your child.

Part 2. Who is online learning good for?

You might be surprised to hear that online distance learning is good for a variety of students. According to K12, “While traditional schooling works for many kids, many others benefit from a more individualized education. K12 has had great success with advanced learners, struggling students, families on the move, athletes and performers, kids who learn better without the distractions or, sometimes, the bullying, of the everyday classroom – and many others. Essentially, any child whose full potential is not being maximized is a good candidate for online learning."

Online learning may also be used to supplement any child's education. If your child is having difficulty in math, reading, or science, for example, you may enroll him in the course at home so that he gets additional assistance in the subject. The practice of enrolling in an extra course or two outside of school is a useful alternative for students who would like to take more elective courses or who would like additional learning experiences.
