Getting started with messages

Cozi Messages gives you an easy way to send messages to the members of your family. Need everyone home in time for pizza? Need to send a short reminder to just your spouse? From the Messages area of your Cozi Home page, you can compose your message, and quickly choose who to send it to and how you want it sent (via email or mobile phone).

At this time, Cozi Messages are one-way — they can be sent from Cozi, but your family members cannot reply in email or text back. If you want family members to respond, we suggest telling them how to contact you in the body of your message, e.g., “call me at home.”

Sending messages

To send a message:

1. First, make sure you’ve entered email addresses and mobile phone numbers for each family member who will want to receive messages. See Telling Cozi about your family.

Tip: We currently offer text messaging support in the United States, although some coverage may be offered in other countries. Contact Cozi Customer Support to find out if your phone number has email mapping.

2. On your Cozi Home page, locate the Messages area, type your message in the box, and then click anywhere on the To line.
3. Use the check boxes in the pop-up menu to select who should receive the message by which delivery method, and then click Done.
4. Click Send, or press Ctrl+Enter.

If you are sending the message to a family member’s mobile phone and type more than 160 characters (about 30 words), Cozi will send your message as multiple text messages. Up to three text messages can be sent at a time. As your message approaches 160 characters, a character counter will appear directly beneath the text box, telling you how many characters long your message is or how many text messages will be sent. Please be aware that your mobile phone service provider may charge you for text messages. There is no character limit on email.
