How can Cozi be free? What’s the catch?

Cozi makes money by displaying relevant content to families from a select group of sponsors. This allows us to keep Cozi free for families. Please note that your mobile phone provider may charge you the standard rate for the text messages you send from Cozi.

Does Cozi synchronize with Microsoft Outlook?

Cozi has released a "beta," or pre-release version, of the Cozi Outlook Toolbar, which allows you to synchronize your Cozi calendar with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 and 2007. You can obtain this beta here.

I can’t find the calendar month view or day view.

Can I use Cozi on my Macintosh Computer?

Yes. Cozi can be accessed via popular Web browsers on either Windows or the Macintosh. Simply visit https://cozicentral.cozi.com/ and sign in using the same email address and password that you used to create your Cozi account. If you don’t remember your password, you can always reset it. For more information about Web access, check out our Web access page.

How do I add things to the calendar that I do every week (or month, etc.)?

To enter an appointment that happens regularly (for example, a child’s soccer practice), do one of the following:

• Type the appointment directly in the text box at the bottom of the calendar. Type the appointment the way you would describe it in everyday language; for example, “Henry: Saturdays 1-3 Soccer practice until 9/6”. Cozi will identify the date and time of the appointment, and put it in the right place in the calendar.
• Click an existing appointment, and then click “Edit.” In the Occurs field, describe how often the appointment occurs. Examples: “Every week on Saturday,” “Every week on Tuesday and Thursday”.

How can I pick which shopping list shows up on my Cozi Home page?

The shopping list that appears on the Cozi Home page is the one that is at the "front" of the line on the Shopping List page. To move a list to the front, go to the Shopping List page, right-click the list you want, point to Move List, and then click To the front. Note: This feature is only available in the downloadable PC version of Cozi.

How do I change the name/email address/phone number that’s set up in my account?

From your Cozi Home page, find the More area, click Settings, and then click General information about your household. Enter or change the information you would like. Click Done, and then click Done to return to the Home page. You’re all set!

Can I install Cozi both at home and at work?

You can install Cozi on all the personal computers (PCs) your family uses. When you install Cozi, you will be prompted for one of the email addresses from your account and your family’s password. The new PC will be automatically updated with all of your appointments, shopping lists, and other information.

While it’s technically possible for you to install Cozi at work, some workplaces put measures in place that keep you from installing software on their computers. Check your company’s policy. If you are not permitted to download software, you can access Cozi by using the Web. Simply visit Cozi Web Access at https://cozicentral.cozi.com.

Does Cozi use Microsoft .NET? Do you share my information with Microsoft?

Depending on the Windows XP settings on your PC, when you install Cozi you may be asked to install a part of Windows called the .NET Framework.

The .NET Framework is a set of application building blocks for software developers; it allows us to write good Windows applications quickly. Despite the name, the .NET Framework is unrelated to .NET Passport, and does not share any of your personal information with Microsoft. Does Cozi work with Windows Vista?

Yes, Cozi PC runs on 32-bit editions of Windows Vista. And unless you explicitly purchased a 64-bit edition of Windows Vista, you are almost certainly using a 32-bit edition. We promise! You can always verify which version of Windows you have by clicking Start, clicking Control Panel, and then double-clicking System.

64-bit editions of Vista are not yet supported.

Can I use Cozi outside the United States?

You can use Cozi anywhere in the world, with the following known issues:

• With non-English language editions of Windows, you will not be able to type free-form appointments into the calendar, and if English is not the main language, highlighting in the mini-calendar does not highlight the proper selection. There may be other problems with the calendar.
• Our text messaging support is currently offered only in the United States. However, you may be able to receive text messages in Canada depending on your mobile operator—contact Cozi Customer Support to find out if your phone number has email mapping.
