Troubleshooting Installation Why isn’t the toolbar showing up? We know of a few reasons why this might happen. If you have recently upgraded from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007, you will need to reinstall the toolbar. The toolbar is not compatible with Microsoft Active Sync used with Outlook 2003. Please uninstall Microsoft Active Sync or upgrade to Outlook 2007. If neither of these situations applies to you, please follow these steps. Why did Outlook stop working after I installed the toolbar? If you have installed the Microsoft Business Contact Manager, you must have the latest version before using the Cozi Outlook Toolbar. This program is a separate add-on to Microsoft Outlook that is not normally installed with Microsoft Office. The latest version is called “Microsoft Business Contact Manager Update for Outlook.” You are running the latest version if you see the word “update” in its title under “Add or Remove Programs.” If the word “update” is not there, you can obtain the latest version here. If this does not solve the problem, please contact us. Why am I getting an error message when I try to uninstall the Cozi Outlook Toolbar? If you have uninstalled the .NET Framework from your local machine after successfully installing the Cozi Outlook Toolbar, you may receive an error message. You must reinstall the .NET Framework 2.0 before you can proceed with uninstalling the Cozi Outlook Toolbar. Settings Why is the family member list empty? The first time you use the Settings wizard, Cozi may fail to get the names of the family members for your account. If this happens, the “Which family member are you?” page will display an empty list. You can complete or cancel the wizard at this point, but synchronization will not be possible until the household member information can be obtained. Restarting the Settings wizard should solve the problem. If the problem is still not resolved, please try starting the Settings wizard again later or contact us. Recurring Appointments Why are my appointments showing up as recurrences when they shouldn’t be? If you copy an appointment to a different day in Outlook and then edit it, it may (very rarely) become a recurring appointment in both Cozi and Outlook after synchronization. To avoid this problem, please create separate instances of similar appointments. Why aren’t exceptions to recurring appointments behaving as I expect? There are three scenarios that we know about. These problems can be resolved by syncing again or by closing and restarting Outlook; several synchronizations may be required before the problems are completely resolved. 1) If you create a recurring appointment with an exception in Outlook and then delete the series from Cozi, the series and the exception will be removed from Outlook. However, the exception will stay in Cozi until a subsequent synchronization. 2) If you create a recurring appointment in Outlook or Cozi and create and then delete an exception in Outlook, the exception will not be deleted from Cozi. 3) If you create a recurring appointment in Cozi and then modify one appointment in the series, the changes that you make to the series may not be applied to the exception in Outlook. Why aren’t my recurring appointments showing up correctly? There is a known problem with appointments that occur every two weekends. They will appear correctly in Cozi but be split across two different weekends in Outlook, falling on Sunday in the first weekend, and Saturday in the second. We are working on correcting this problem, and apologize for the inconvenience. Making Syncing Easier and “Cleaner” How can I easily tell which appointments will be synced? We recommend that you color-code them. I’m seeing duplicate appointments in Outlook. To ensure that you don’t continue receiving duplicates or that you don’t permanently remove the appointment from both calendars, please follow these instructions. I’m seeing duplicate appointments in Cozi. If you save appointments sent via email or use Exchange Server to send meeting requests between family members, you might see duplicate appointments in Cozi. (If you’d like, you can still send appointments via email to notify each other, but to avoid seeing duplicates, we recommend that you not save them to your calendar.) To delete the duplicates that already exist, please follow these instructions. How can I see my kids’ appointments? We recommend that you add yourself to the appointments in Cozi. Why are appointments that aren’t mine showing up in Outlook? The only reason we know of why this might happen is because your name is attached to them in Cozi. Deleting the appointment in Outlook will only remove it temporarily. The best solution is to remove yourself from the appointment in Cozi Central. Why are everyone’s Outlook appointments showing up on my tab in Cozi? If you were tracking all family activities in Outlook and synced with Cozi, all appointments were put onto your tab, regardless of who they were assigned to in Outlook. You may want to go through Cozi and add your kids’ names or spouse’s name, as necessary. However, if you want to keep seeing these appointments in your copy of Outlook, you should keep your name attached to them in Cozi. Question not answered here? Send us your question. |
