Tidying up after your first sync
We've worked hard to make Outlook integration work for you. However, to protect users' privacy and preferences,
there are some things we aren't allowed to change. But you can!
First, we recommend that you color-code your appointments in Microsoft Office Outlook. This will help you tell at
a glance which appointments will be sent to Cozi and make it very easy to resolve any duplicate appointments.

Deleting duplicate appointments in Outlook
You might be seeing duplicate appointments because you created the same appointment in Cozi and Outlook before you synced.
To ensure that you don't continue receiving duplicates or that you don't permanently remove the appointment from both calendars,
you need to delete the "right" duplicate appointment.
1. Be sure you have customized Outlook to show "Family" appointments in color.
2. Open your Outlook calendar so you can see duplicate appointments side by side.
3. Select the appointment that is not in the Family category (the Family appointment will appear in the color you selected in Step 1),
and then click the Delete button on the Standard toolbar in Outlook.
Correcting appointments in Outlook that aren't yours
You might receive appointments from Cozi that aren't yours. The only reason we know of why this might happen is because
your name is attached to them in Cozi. Deleting the appointment in Outlook will only remove it temporarily. The best solution
is to remove yourself from the appointment in Cozi.
1. Open Cozi, and on the home page, click anywhere on the Calendar.
2. Click the appointment to open it, and then clear the check mark next to your name.
The next time you sync, the appointment should no longer appear in your Outlook calendar.

Adding yourself to appointments in Cozi
Sometimes there are appointments you may not be attending but still want to know about. Any time you want to see an
appointment in Outlook, you can add yourself to it in Cozi.
1. Open Cozi, and on the home page, click anywhere on the Calendar.
2. Click the appointment to open it, and then click the check box next to your name.
The next time you sync, the appointment will show up in Outlook.
Adding other family members to appointments in Cozi
If you were tracking all family activities in Outlook and synced with Cozi, all appointments were put onto your view of the calendar.
You may want to go through Cozi and add your kids' names or spouse's name, as necessary. However, if you want to keep seeing these appointments
on your Outlook calendar, you should keep your name attached to them in Cozi.
1. Open Cozi, and on the home page, click anywhere on the
Calendar.
2. Click the appointment to open it, and click the check boxes next to family members' names to add or remove them from the appointment.
Deleting duplicate appointments in Cozi
If you save appointments sent via email or use Exchange Server to send meeting requests between family members, you might see duplicate appointments in Cozi.
(If you'd like, you can still send appointments via email to notify each other, but to avoid seeing duplicates, we recommend that you don't
save them to your calendar.)
1. Open Cozi, and on the home page, click anywhere on the Calendar.
2. Choose one of the duplicates and add relevant family members to it.
3. Delete the remaining duplicate.
4. The next time family members sync with Outlook, the appointment will appear in their Outlook calendars, and only one copy of the appointment will appear in Cozi.
