If you have the Cozi app on your smartphone or tablet we have good news: You can now set your device to receive calendar reminders via on device notifications (instead of text or email).

(Also new in our latest mobile app update: a lovely new month view for your calendar!)

A couple important details:

1. The Cozi app update is now available for Android, iPhone and iPad devices (Go to iTunes, Google Play, and the Amazon App Store to get lit.).

2. This is for appointment reminders only. Other notifications (such as sharing lists or sending messages via the Cozi Family Message Center) will still come by text or email.

How to make the switch:

First, update the app on your phone by going to iTunes, Google Play or the Amazon App store and tapping "Update".

When you open the updated app for the first time, you will see a pop-up that looks like this:

If you would like to receive on device notifications of your appointment reminders (instead of texts) tap OK. 

Next, you will see a screen that looks like this:

Tap on the name of owner of this device. (In this case, it is Chris's iPhone, so you tap on Chris to choose him.)

Tap SAVE.

That's it! Now all calendar appointment reminders will come from within the app and not via text.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This will activate on device notifications on THIS DEVICE ONLY. If you use more than one device and wish to have reminders sent to each one, be sure to turn on device notifications for yourself on each device. Text notifications and emails for calendar reminders will no longer be sent to any devices once on device notifications are turned on.

One last thing!

If you accidentally say "no" but actually want to get on device notifications, you can set them manually as follows:

Tap on Settings and Scroll down until you see this:

Now Tap on Set Notifications to set them to "On" and tap Save.

You're done!
