Don’t you just LOVE getting gift cards? How about a gift card you can spend on ANYTHING - groceries, gifts, even a donation to charity!
Cozi has teamed up with Tango Card to give away 27 gift card prizes (one for each day from now through December 24th) each worth $50 bucks! Even better, on Christmas day, we’ll give away two Tango Card prizes worth $250 bucks each. Huzzah!
What’s a Tango Card, you ask? It’s an all-in-one super-flexible gift card you can use with many major brands. Feeling generous? You can even use it to donate to charity!)
READY to WIN*? Here's what you need to do:
1. First, tell at least one person with a busy family life about Cozi’s awesome family organizing app.
Do it any way you like: Use email, your favorite social network or even just good ole’ fashioned word of mouth, like when you’re waiting at school to pick up the kids. (Yeah, we’re parents too.)
2. Next, tell us that you shared how Cozi makes managing family life easier, and more organized by either:
a) Clicking over to the entry form on Facebook OR
b) Sending an email telling us what you did to: [email protected]
Any questions? Here are a few we think you'll have:
How will we know you actually told someone?
It’s the honor system, we TRUST you. (Yep, that’s just how we roll here at Cozi.)
How will we know you entered?
By getting your email or your entry on Facebook.
How often can you enter?
Enter each time you share Cozi with a friend. You can even come back each day to tell us how you shared Cozi that day.
When and where will we announce the winners?
We’ll draw a winner every day from the entries of the previous day, from now through December 25. We'll announce on Facebook daily when a winner has been drawn. But you MUST enter with the official entry form or via email, because you will be notified directly by email (NOT via Facebook) if you win.
So, if you'd like a chance to win a $50, or even a $250 gift card that you can use for yourself, somebody else or even donate to charity, go tell someone about Cozi right now so you can enter.
Or just click away now and let someone else have all the fun.
Happy Holidays and good luck!

With the holiday week ending and the regular routine starting up again next week, you could probably use a couple easy dinner ideas. If you haven't made them yet, try the latest selections in the Cozi Family Dinner Club. And if you did make them, click through to the recipe and tell us how they went!
November Recipe Selections:
Thanks to Dinner Club member Jada Swanson for sharing her recipe for Jambalaya. She is from Louisiana and says everyone thinks this takes a long time to make, but she gets it on the table in under an hour. (And it's tasty enough for dinner guests.)
Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce and Meatballs
If you've never made your own spaghetti and meatballs, this is a delicious recipe, and the slow cooker takes care of the long simmer for you. It makes a big batch so you can feed company or have enough for leftovers through the week.
The Cozi Family Dinner Club is all about teaming up to make dinner: sharing ideas and simplifying meal planning to help you get dinner on the table. Join the Cozi Family Dinner Club to get recipes sent direct to your inbox and to enjoy all the benefits of membership.

Over 700 Cozi families shared what happens in their household on Thanksgiving Day, from favorite foods and who prepares them (most popular answer: the whole family!) to how many people come and where they all sit to eat. Family togetherness is a top priority for families on Thanksgiving Day and for most, the day is happy and fun, but exhausting!
Besides a big meal with family, saying what you're thankful for is the most common activity for the day. But we also learned about some unique Thanksgiving traditions in case you're looking for ideas that are sure to make lasting families memories.
And since Thanksgiving marks the start of the holiday season and the spirit of giving, we thought we'd take this opportunity to let you know that Cozi supports the No Kid Hungry® Campaign - a movement of over 100,000 people who are committed to ending childhood hunger in America. There are two ways you can join us in support of this effort: simply take the pledge to add your name to the movement, or donate to the campaign to help connect hungry children with nutritious meals. For the holiday season (until December 31st), your donation will be doubled thanks to matching partners!

Even if you've been using Cozi for a while, here are 5 features you may not know about that will TOTALLY make your life easier:
1. Add a schedule with the Schedule feature
If you have a recurring schedule (like Girl Scouts or child care or soccer team) the Schedule feature is definitely the best way to add it to your Cozi calendar. It allows you to
- see the whole schedule all in one place
- add multiple schedules (like two kids with different practice times)
- quickly make changes, add exceptions (like days off or holidays)
- add extra events (like that end-of-season potluck dinner)
Once you have it set up, just click save and the whole schedule becomes part of your Cozi calendar. To learn more about how to use the Schedule feature, watch this screen cast.
Please note: you can add a schedule by logging into Cozi from a computer, but not from the Cozi mobile apps. Go to your Cozi calendar, select Set up from the top menu and choose Activity schedules/Internet calendars. Once a schedule is added, you'll see the events on your calendar from any device you use to access Cozi.
2. Add an Internet Calendar
Wouldn't it be nice if you could import your favorite sports team calendar into Cozi? Or have all the religious holidays you want to see added on the right dates automatically? The good news is that Cozi can already import digital calendars. All the details on how to add your preferred calendars are in this blog post and quick screen cast.
Please note: you can add Internet calendars by logging into Cozi from a computer, but not from a Cozi mobile app. Go to your Cozi calendar, select Set up from the top menu, choose Activity schedules/Internet calendars, and choose Add an Internet calendar at the bottom of the page. Once a calendar is added, you will see the events from any device you use to access Cozi.
3. Add Dates to Your To Do List
It's easy enough to create a to do list and then forget all about it, right? Cozi helps you remember your to dos by linking your to do list to your calendar. Just add a date to any to do item (using month/day OR month/day/year format), hit enter and watch it show right up on the day you need to do it!
For example, type: Sweep out the garage 11/20. Then, check your calendar and you will see "Sweep out your garage" as an item on November 20. Makes that honey-do list pretty sweet, huh?
4. Organize Your Lists with Categories
If your lists seem a little long and unmanageable, you can organize them by typing category names in all capital letters like this: PRODUCE. Cozi automatically creates a subheading in your list for it. For example, you can type DAIRY and a Dairy category is instantly created. Then you can add more list items like: yogurt, milk, butter. To move items to a different location in your list, please use the drag and drop feature (not currently available in IE9).
5. Get a Map to Your Next Appointment
Got a birthday party or dinner plans coming up? When you create the appointment on your calendar, take an extra moment to type the full address into the location tab. When you do, Cozi will automatically provide you with a map to that location. This is very handy when you are racing to a swim meet and you have absolutely no idea where the opposing team pool is. Just open up Cozi, and a map to the location will be right there.
Note: This feature only works if you have included your ZIP CODE in your Cozi settings, so if you haven't done that yet, it only takes a minute to add it in the web version of Cozi under Settings > General Household Information.
Ready to be even more organized? Go ahead and try a few of these features now and let us know what you think in the comments below.

Loads of Cozi families have asked us to add meal planning tools, and we’ve been hard at work doing just that. We're thrilled to introduce Cozi Meals - the place in Cozi where you can store all your recipes, drag and drop meals to a dinner plan and even get family-friendly dinner ideas.
Watch this screencast now, and in just five minutes you’ll learn how to start planning your family menus in Cozi right away.
We want to give a big shout out to the Cozi Family Dinner Club. Members of the club have been using a pre-release version of the feature and providing feedback on functionality and design. THANK YOU for your involvement and we look forward to working with you on future improvements! If you've been using the pre-release version, we will place instructions there for how to transfer your recipe box into your Cozi account.
Now for a few important notes:
- For now, you can store recipes and plan meals from a computer only - you won't see the Meals feature in your Cozi mobile app.
- The Dinner plan page looks like a calendar, but is not a view of your calendar, so you won’t see your appointments in it. Please don’t worry when you open it at first and it is blank. This is where you will list your dinner plan.
- Printing: Right now, the Cozi Dinner plan page let's you print the plan. By default, the next 4 weeks of dinners will be printed. If you want to print a week or two only, please use the print dialog to control the number of pages that are printed.
- We previously offered a toolbar button that adds recipes around the web to your Cozi calendar. Cozi Meals now offers a new toolbar button that will let you add recipes to your new recipe box in the same way. Check out the Tips tab in Cozi Meals for instructions on using the Add to Cozi Meals toolbar button.

Dessert has a way of pleasing everyone, all the time, without fail.
So Cozi asked you to share YOUR best family desserts - recipes that are simple to whip up and that make the dinner table wriggle with excitement. Thank you to everyone who submitted a dessert recipe!
We narrowed down over 100 recipes to the top 10 (based on taste, ease of preparation and cleanup, cost, originality) and then prepared them for an official taste test among kids and grown-ups in the Cozi offices here in Seattle.
We knew we were asking a lot of them, but the 10-kid taste panel came through by diligently tasting and rating each dessert:

After a tally of the votes, we have our top three family desserts:
Hot Chocolate Cupcakes
Hot Chocolate Cupakes, submitted by Lynne K., took first place honors. Lynne says, "My son can make it all by himself and we all love it. He often makes it when we're having friends over for dinner because it's a great do-ahead recipe that you can just stick in the refrigerator and take out after dinner."
Get the recipe for Hot Chocolate Cupcakes.
Creamy No Bake Cheesecake
Creamy No-Bake Cheesecake, submitted by Kemish E., took second place honors.
Kemish says that this cheesecake is creamier and sweeter then baked versions. And this recipe was particularly popular with the grown-up taste-testers here at Cozi.

Lemon Ice Pie
Lemon Ice Pie, submitted by Bethel A., took third place honors. Bethel says this is a wonderful recipe for summer. (But we taste-tested in October and no one had trouble enjoying it!)

Enjoy the recipes and happy dessert-ing!
