Jeremy Jaech Jeremy brings more than 20 years of building market-creating software companies. He is currently the President and CEO of Trumba Corp, a maker of web-hosted event calendar software for publishing online, interactive calendars of events. Jaech was co-founder of Visio Corporation, the developer of the first mass-market business drawing and diagramming software, and served as its President, CEO and Chairman of the Board from 1990 until its acquisition by Microsoft Corporation in 2000. Post acquisition, Jaech served as Vice President of the Business Tools Division at Microsoft until June 2000. Prior to founding Visio Corporation, he co-founded Aldus Corporation, the first company to create design software for graphics arts professionals using personal computers and laser printers. At Aldus, Jaech was the technical leader for the original development of PageMaker and went on to serve as Vice President of Engineering, managing Aldus’ product development. Aldus was acquired by Adobe in 1994. Jaech serves on the Board of Directors of Seattle-based RealNetworks, Inc., MindJet Corporation, a privately funded company located in San Francisco, California, and of Alibre Inc., a privately funded company located in Richardson, Texas. He holds a BA in mathematics and an MS in computer science from the University of Washington. Robbie Cape
Robbie brings 15 years of experience designing software, building teams, and managing software businesses. The last 12 years were spent at Microsoft. In his most recent experience at Microsoft, Robbie grew a new business to add annuity software service value to the Software Assurance subscription program. The majority of Robbie’s experience is in the role of program manager, product unit manager, and general manager of the Microsoft Money business. Robbie ushered the Money business to profitability with revenues of more than $65 million, and put Microsoft Money on the map as a formidable competitor to Intuit’s Quicken. Robbie has a deep love for building businesses, products, and teams that build high quality, simple software consistently and on time. Robbie holds a B.A. in Science and Engineering from Princeton University. He lives in the suburbs of Seattle with his wife Bonnie and their three children Benjamin, Noah, and Dalia. Mari Baker Mari possesses more than twenty years of business experience with a strong focus on consumer marketing, product and e-commerce management. Mari is the Founder and CEO of Navigenics which offers personalized, preventive health and wellness services to its members. She was most recently an Executive-in-Residence at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, which she joined in 2006. Prior to that, she was President of BabyCenter, LLC, a Johnson & Johnson company. Under her leadership, BabyCenter became the world’s leading Web site for new and expectant parents, winning numerous online health awards and expanding significantly offline and internationally. Prior to her tenure with BabyCenter and Johnson & Johnson, she was a Senior Vice President at Intuit, Inc., which she joined in 1989 as product manager for Quicken. Mari led the growth of Quicken into the No. 1 personal finance product in the world, along with international expansion and the launch of Quicken.com. She attended Stanford University, graduating with degrees in economics and sociology. She served on the Board of Trustees of Stanford University from 1996 to 2003, including oversight of the Stanford Medical Center, and continues to serve as a Trustee Emeritus. Mari is married with three daughters and resides in California’s Bay Area. Ron Weinstein Ron’s career is peppered with executive and advisory roles in well-known American companies. He is the former President of Schuck’s Auto Supply, one of the Northwest’s oldest auto supply chains. He served as Chairman of B&B Auto Supply before moving to Egghead Software as its Executive Vice President. Until its sale in 1998, Ron served on the board of directors for Quality Food Centers, Inc. (QFC). He also held a Board of Directors seat at Coinstar, a publicly-held consumer services company, until 2001. Since 1992, Ron has performed as the managing general partner of the Weinstein Family Limited Partnership. Currently, he is an advisor to the European Academy of Management, a professional society for scholars in the field of management. Ron also is active in community organizations, and now serves on the board of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee), and is a major supporter of the Jewish Day School of Greater Seattle. Previous community roles included a seat on the board of the Jewish Federation, chairmanship of the Jewish Federation Campaign, and board memberships at Jewish Family Service and Herzl Ner Tamid. Ron was born in Oregon and grew up in Portland, where he attended Portland State College. Ron and his wife Deborah split their time between their home in Seattle and their home in Rancho Mirage, California; they have two daughters and three grandchildren. Michael Maness Michael Maness is vice president of Innovation and Design for Gannett Co., Inc. He served as vice president of Strategic Planning for Gannett’s Newspaper Division from February 2006 until June 2007. Michael was one of the key architects of Gannett’s Information Center strategy which is transforming the way all of newsrooms gather and disseminate news and information across all platforms. His approaches have been featured in Wired, E&P, AJR and the Washington Post articles. Business Week recently cited this strategy and noted that “the newspaper chain with the most interesting and coherent approach to rethinking journalism and news-gathering is not the New York Times Co. or the Washington Post Co. It’s Gannett…” Michael was a co-winner of 2007 Chairman’s Special Achievement Award for his work on designing and implementing the Information Center. In addition, he was recognized as one of the “20 under 40” top industry leaders by Presstime. Before his promotion to VP/Strategic Planning, Maness was Vice-President of New Media for The Journal News in Westchester, NY. Prior to this position, Michael was the Vice President of New Media for The News Journal in Wilmington, Delaware, where he introduced online database marketing and daily news Webcast without a television partner, the first of its kind in the industry. During his Delaware tenure, Michael was awarded the Gannett’s President Ring twice, a company award giving to the top performers in each division. Before joining Gannett, Michael worked in political consulting and marketing. He holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree with Honors in English from Northwestern University. David Cape David has been involved in entrepreneurial organizations for most of his career. Upon graduating from Princeton University in 1987, he co founded and was President of Princeton Transportation Consulting Group, which developed and implemented operations research-based computer software for major U.S. motor carriers. After selling his equity in 1993, David spent nine months working at Microsoft as a Product Manager on Visual Basic. In 1994 David returned to Montreal to join Groupe Marcelle, the family business; he served in several executive positions before becoming President in 2003. David is active in a number of community organizations as well, including his synagogue and the Jewish Federation of Montreal. David is married to Victoria and is the father of four sons. David has also recently become an avid road biker, and enjoys skiing and snowshoeing in the winters of Canada. |
