Downloading and installing the toolbar

If you haven't done so already, please download the toolbar. Installation will happen as part of the download.

Note: The Cozi Outlook Toolbar currently works with Outlook calendars where the first day of the week is Sunday. The Cozi Outlook Toolbar is not supported with Outlook calendars where the first day of the week is a day other than Sunday (most calendars outside the U.S. and Canada). If your calendar starts on a day other than Sunday, the Cozi Outlook Toolbar will cause appointments to appear on the wrong day and/or to be deleted.

Will the Cozi Outlook Toolbar work with my version of Outlook?

The Cozi Outlook Toolbar (Beta) works only with Microsoft Outlook 2010 (32-bit version), Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2). (The Cozi Outlook Toolbar is not supported with older versions of Outlook, or on the Mac.) To confirm you have one of the supported versions of Outlook:

1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
2. Click Help, and then click About Microsoft Office Outlook.
3. Confirm that the first line of text refers to either Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 (32-bit version), Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, or Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.

Will the Cozi Outlook Toolbar work with my Outlook calendar?

The Cozi Outlook Toolbar currently works with Outlook calendars where the first day of the week is Sunday. The Cozi Outlook Toolbar is not supported with Outlook calendars where the first day of the week is a day other than Sunday (most calendars outside the U.S. and Canada). If your calendar starts on a day other than Sunday, the Cozi Outlook Toolbar will cause appointments to appear on the wrong day and/or to be deleted.

On which computer should I install the toolbar?

You should install the Cozi Outlook Toolbar on the computer that has the Outlook calendar you want to sync with. You can install the toolbar on more than one computer, so that every family member with an Outlook calendar will be able to sync with Cozi. Note: syncing more than two Outlook calendars to the same Cozi account is an untested configuration.

If you want to install the toolbar at work, be sure that your workplace allows you to install software and that your computer has access to the general Internet (specifically, your computer will need to be able to reach www.cozi.com for the toolbar to work). How do I access my Outlook work calendar from home?

If you want to connect Cozi to an Outlook calendar at work, but you can't install software on your work computer (or can't browse the general Internet from your work computer), your only option is to install the Cozi Outlook Toolbar at home.

For this route to work, you'll need to have Microsoft Outlook 2010 (32-bit version), 2007, or 2003 SP2 installed on your home computer. Your copy of Outlook at home will need to have direct access to your Outlook calendar at work. By "direct access," we mean that you need to be able to run Outlook on your home computer and be able to see your work calendar inside of Outlook.

Your company's network administrators may have created a process for setting this up; check with them. If your company uses Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange, ask whether your company lets you run Outlook from home using either Virtual Private Networking (VPN) or RPC over HTTP.

The first sync between Outlook and Cozi

The Cozi Outlook Toolbar can share information between Cozi and Outlook only if the computer is on, you're connected to the Internet, and Outlook is running.

To sync your Cozi and Outlook calendars, click the Sync with Cozi Central button on the Outlook toolbar.

Your very first sync may take a few minutes, depending on how many appointments are on your calendar. If you're watching your Outlook calendar during the process, you may see some appointments "flicker" as everything shuffles into the right slot. This is perfectly normal, and it will only last a few seconds.
