Getting started

If you’re new to Cozi, welcome! You’ll want to check out all of the other great features Cozi has to offer, and then sign up for a FREE Cozi account, if you haven’t already.

The Cozi Family Journal is an easy way to record all those special family moments that might otherwise be forgotten. With the journal, you can quickly jot down these moments—with photos—and in no time at all, you will have effortlessly created a rich family history. It’s much simpler than maintaining a blog, and a lot less expensive than scrapbooking.

Now it’s easy to share these moments with friends and family, right in Facebook.

Why keep a family journal? Why not just post Facebook status updates?

Your Facebook status is all about you, but the Cozi Family Journal is all about your family!

If several members of your family use Facebook, they can choose to show your Cozi Family Journal entries on their own Facebook profiles. One person can add updates for the whole family. So, for example, if you jot down a moment in your Cozi Family Journal, Cozi will automatically update your spouse or partner's Facebook profile.

Linking your Cozi Family Journal with your Facebook account

It’s easy to link your Cozi Family Journal with your Facebook account.

Using your computer to access Cozi from the web:

1. Click the Share our journal button on your Cozi Family Journal.

2. Select Connect Cozi to Facebook. The Connect Cozi to Facebook page will appear.

3. Click Connect to Facebook next to the family member whose Facebook account you want to connect to Cozi.

4. Log in to the Facebook account of the family member selected, if prompted.

5. On the next page, click Log In with Facebook.

6. On the next page, click Allow to allow Cozi to post on your behalf.

7. Repeats steps 3 through 6 for each family member who wants your Cozi family journal posts to be displayed on their Facebook profile.

And, that's it! Cozi will now post new shared journal entries to the Facebook accounts you have connected to.

Specifying settings in Facebook

To change who can see the posts Cozi posts to your Facebook account and whether you are notified when Cozi posts to your Facebook account:

1. From your Facebook page, click the down area next to Home, and select Account Settings.

2. Click Apps in the left column.

3. Click Edit to the right of Cozi Family Journal.

4. Make your desired changes, then click Close.

Disconnecting your Cozi Family Journal from your Facebook account

To disconnect your Cozi Family Journal from your Facebook account so that no future journal entries are posted to your Facebook account, even journal entries marked Shared:

From Cozi:

1. Click the Share our journal button on your Cozi Family Journal using Cozi on the web.

2. Select Connect Cozi to Facebook. The Connect Cozi to Facebook page will appear.

3. Click Disconnect for the household member whose Facebook profile you want to stop posting Cozi Family Journal entries to.

4. Confirm that you want to disconnect your Cozi Family Journal from the Facebook profile for the selected household member.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each household member whose Facebook profile you want to stop posting Cozi Family Journal entries to.

In Facebook:

1. Click the down area next to Home, and select Account Settings.

2. Select Account Settings.

3. Click Apps in the left pane.

4. Next to Cozi Family Journal in the list of applications, click the X.

5. Click Remove in the dialog box that appears.
