Getting started with the Cozi Family Journal Facebook application

If you’re new to Cozi, welcome! You’ll want to check out all of the other great features Cozi has to offer, and then sign up for a FREE Cozi account, if you haven’t already.

The Cozi Family Journal is an easy way to record all those special family moments that might otherwise be forgotten. With the journal, you can quickly jot down these moments—with photos—and in no time at all, you will have effortlessly created a rich family history. It’s much simpler than maintaining a blog, and a lot less expensive than scrapbooking.

Now it’s easy to share these moments with friends and family, right in Facebook. Whether you create your Cozi Family Journal in Cozi, in Facebook, or both, your journal entries are always synchronized and available, to your family and to your Facebook friends.

Why keep a family journal? Why not just post Facebook status updates?

Your Facebook status is all about you, but the Cozi Family Journal for Facebook is all about your family!

If several members of your family use Facebook, they can choose to show your Cozi Family Journal entries on their own Facebook profiles. One person can add updates for the whole family. So, for example, if your spouse or partner is on Facebook, you can both make Family Journal entries that will appear on each other’s Facebook profiles and in Cozi, without ever leaving Facebook.

Plus, if your friends use the Cozi Family Journal, you can read their latest family news too!

Linking your Cozi Family Journal with your Facebook account

It’s easy to link your Cozi Family Journal with your Facebook account:

From Cozi:

1. Click the Share on web button on your Cozi Family Journal.

2. Select Share on Facebook. The Share your journal with friends on Facebook page will appear.

3. Click Set up Facebook sharing.

4. Click the Cozi Family Journal application on Facebook link.

5. On the next page, click Allow.

6. Follow the instructions to complete setup.

From Facebook:

1. Log on to your Facebook account.

2. Install the Cozi Family Journal application by clicking Go to this Application on this page.

3. On the next page, click Allow.

4. Follow the instructions to complete setup.

Accessing your Cozi Family Journal in Facebook

After you have installed the Cozi Family Journal application, you can access your journal from any page in Facebook:

1. Click the Applications button (located in the lower-left corner of the page).

2. Click Cozi Family Journal.

To find your journal more easily in the future, you can bookmark it:

On your Cozi Family Journal page, click the Bookmark Cozi Family Journal link on the toolbar in the lower-left corner of the page. A Cozi Family Journal icon will appear on the toolbar for easy access.

To specify more settings for your Cozi Family Journal:

1. Click the Applications button in the lower-left corner of any Facebook page, and then click the Edit link.

2. Next to Cozi Family Journal in the list of applications, click Edit Settings.

3. In the dialog box that appears:

The Wall tab allows you to specify if and how Cozi Family Journal entries appear on your Facebook wall.
The Profile tab allows you to add Cozi Family Journal to your Facebook boxes, add a Cozi Family Journal tab to your Facebook profile, and specify your privacy settings.
The Bookmark tab allows you to add or remove a bookmark (on the lower-left toolbar on every Facebook page) for Cozi Family Journal.

Removing Cozi Family Journal from Facebook

To remove the Cozi Family Journal application from your Facebook profile:

1. Click the Applications button in the lower-left corner of any Facebook page, and then click the Edit link.

2. Next to Cozi Family Journal in the list of applications, click the X.

3. Click Remove in the dialog box that appears.
